DPG Media
DPG Media, the new name of the united company of Medialaan (VTM, Q-Music) and De Persgroep Publishing (Humo, Het Laatste Nieuws, De Morgen), took up residence in News City, a brand new headquarters on Kievitplein, right next to Central Station in Antwerp. The Building was created by the Belgian construction group BESIX Group, the design is registered to architectural bureau Binst Architects.
The building is separated in 3 parts: public functions settled at the bottom, in the transparent base. The recording studios, cutting rooms and editorial offices are located above them. From there on the building is characterized by horizontal layers with roof gardens scattered throughout.
The informal work environment and personal atmosphere play an important role. The workspaces are therefor organized in office gardens where employees can enjoy a unique and panoramic view over the rooftops of the city.
The meeting rooms can be found on each floor in two blocks. TecnoPure II, double-walled partitions, were used to meet the necessary acoustic requirements. These requirements are met by using 2 glass panels with a space in between while at the same time maintaining transparency. In between the meeting rooms the TecnoLine partitions were used. Melamine partitions in which the necessary data and electrical cables can be incorporated and which isolate perfectly because of their composition. These partitions are also used in the cutting rooms and on the board level, where they are subtly incorporated in the custom fixtures.
